Select an opaque BOX and routinely select items for the box. Use Legos, K'nex, structure blocks, magnet blocks, tones, shells, coins, and anything else you can think of. Begin with a round of 20 questions so students can figure out what is in the BOX. Then ask students to accomplish something with the items. Depending on the age level, tasks can include sorting, pairing, building, picture making (an animal, a vehicle, something you see outside, inside, etc.) or math activities (adding and subtracting by assigning a value to different pieces).
